A Design Public Hearing will be held virtually by MassDOT officials to present the design for the proposed South Street Bridge over Sawmill River replacement project. The Hearing will be live, conducted virtually/on-line only. Access to the Hearing can be found using the links provided below.
The existing bridge will be replaced with a new bridge in a similar location. The span of the proposed bridge will be increased to 58’-6”. The proposed bridge will accommodate two (2) 10 foot lanes of traffic. Roadway improvements to the approaches in the immediate vicinity of the bridge will also be included. During construction of the bridge the road will be closed to all traffic. A detour route will be implemented
